This page lists every cookie x-to-drupal.qed42.com is capable of setting, what each one does, and how long it lasts. It is the companion to our privacy policy, which explains what we do with personal data more generally.
The short version. Until you accept, this site sets no cookies at all: not analytics, not marketing, not session. We never use advertising cookies, and we do not ask for them even when you accept everything. Measurement that needs no cookies runs either way.
Before you make a choice
Nothing is stored. We verified this on the live site: with no choice made, the browser holds zero cookies from this domain. Google Analytics is loaded but starts in a denied state under Google Consent Mode, so it writes nothing, and Microsoft Clarity is not loaded at all until you accept.
Strictly necessary cookies
None. This site has no login, no basket and no server-side session, so there is nothing it needs to remember in order to work. Your cookie choice itself is stored in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, described below.
Analytics cookies, only after you accept
These are set only once you choose "Accept all". Choosing "Reject" means none of them appear, and you lose nothing on the site.

Microsoft Clarity may also set cookies on its own domains (clarity.ms and Bing), such as an MUID identifier, when it loads. Those are set by Microsoft rather than by us, they appear only after you accept, and Microsoft's own privacy statement governs them.
Session recording, stated plainly
Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used in your session and can replay that as a video, as well as aggregating it into heatmaps. It is configured to mask text you type into form fields, so an email address you enter is not captured in a recording. We use it to find where a page confuses people. If you would rather not be recorded, choose "Reject", and nothing about your visit is replayable.
Your cookie choice itself
We store your answer in your browser's local storage under the key xtd-consent, along with the date you gave it and the version of this page it applied to. It stays on your device and is never sent to us. It is not a cookie and not used to identify you; it exists so we do not ask you the same question on every page.
Two consequences worth knowing. Your choice lapses after twelve months, so you will be asked again. And if the table on this page changes, we bump its version, which also asks you again: agreeing to one set of cookies is not agreeing to a larger one added later.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser or an extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, or the older Do Not Track header, we treat that as a refusal and do not show you the banner at all. No analytics cookies are set and Clarity is never loaded. You do not have to ask twice.
Changing your mind
Use the control below, or "Cookie preferences" in the footer of any page. Choosing "Reject" after having accepted stops any further collection by Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity.
Choosing "Reject" also deletes the analytics cookies already on your device from any earlier acceptance, rather than leaving them to expire on their own. The same sweep runs if your consent lapses or if this policy changes, so a stored identifier never outlives the permission it was set under. Cookies Microsoft set on its own domains are outside our reach; only Microsoft or your browser settings can clear those.
You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings, and every mainstream browser lets you do this per site. Doing so does not affect anything you can read or do here.
Where this data goes
Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC and Microsoft Clarity data by Microsoft Corporation, both on our instructions and both involving transfer to the United States. Those transfers rely on the providers' standard contractual clauses and their participation in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We do not sell data, we run no advertising or remarketing, and we do not combine analytics data with anything else to build a profile of you.
Retention: Google Analytics event data is kept for 14 months and then deleted. Microsoft Clarity retains recordings and heatmap data for up to 30 days. The cookie durations in the table above are separate from these, and are how long the identifier sits on your device.
